Transferable Skills Trainings and Workshops
VISESS students are invited to participate both in VISESS-wide as well as university-wide training possibilities.
VISESS-wide trainings and topics of transferable skills and career development are developed and addressed in the frame of the VISESS Seminar series. Each session focusses on a specific topic on which experts are invited, including topics such as "science communication," "research ethics," "career perspectives" and "disciplinarities: intra, cross, multi, inter, trans."
Furthermore, the u:rise platform offers a wide range of training opportunities at the University of Vienna, to which VISESS students have full access. We recommend the following training and workshop topics:
- Library search and organising information (including Web of Science and Scopus)
- Research data management and analysing data
- Good scientific practice
- Science communication
- Writing, presenting and communicating in English
- Funding possibilities and grant proposal writing
- Teaching competences
- Workshop on the UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Well-being in academia (e.g. Desiree Dickerson)
- Diversity and conflict management
- Project, time and self-management
